Registered sex offender released



Sex offender released
Joey L. Seymour has been released from the Arkansas Department of Correction.

A Level 2 registered sex offender has been released from the Arkansas Department of Correction.


Joey Lee Seymour, also known as Tyler Seymour, 23, lives at 240 Seymour Lane in Mountain Home, according to a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office news release.


Seymour was convicted of sexual assault in the fourth-degree on Nov. 18, 2005. The offense involved Seymour engaging in sexual contact with a 14-year-old females, according to the release.


In November 2007, Seymour pleaded true to a probation violation and was sentenced to two years in prison.


A Level 2 sex offender is considered moderate risk, according to the release.


Factors warranting community notification include the victim was asleep at the time of the incident, the offender has exhibited a pattern of behavior in which he has violated the rights and boundaries of others and has engaged in illegal behavior and the offender was resistant to discussing his behavior during the screening and interview process, according to the release.


The offender is not wanted by law enforcement and the information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate, or harass Registered Sex Offenders. Citizen abuse could end law enforcement’s ability to do community notification.
