According to a news release from the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office, the deparment on Monday will begin notifying residents by telephone of any registered sex offenders who may be living within a one-mile radius of their homes. GPSO says the calls are not meant to alarm residents, but to keep them informed.
The Department will use City Watch, a reverse 911 messaging system which was purchased by GPSO in 2007 to notify residents of any local events or situations.
